They are in!  We are now picking and the Earliglows are very large thanks to the latested rain.  Good flavor, too!

Spring is in the air.  I am slowly getting the farm stand ready.  We already have High Mowing Organic Seeds in and ready for sale.  Jack's Classic Fertilzers (a local company), Classic and Petunia are available and Grandy Oats Granola should be in any day now.  We will be closed this weekend for personal reasons.

We were a bit late, but the sheep are finally lambing and the goats kidding.  We are busy getting ready for spring, starting plants, etc.  Our seeds from High Mowing Organic should be available soon.

The 2008 Farm Bill required the Congress to issue rules addressing anti-competitive trade practices in the livestock and poultry industries.  The proposed Fair Farm Rules (GIPSA) have yet to be finalized and implemented due to the opposition of corporate agribusinesses.  On Thursday, November 3rd there was a rally at Lehigh University and one in Philadelphia in an attempt to bring attention to this issue.  I attended the rally in Philadelphia and also hoped to speak with Sen. Casey.  He did not attend the meeting so we had to speak to his representatives.  As a small livestock farmer I felt it was important to have my voice heard and was glad to have the experience.  If you support small farms, contact Sen. Casey's office and urge him to back the implementation of GIPSA.

We were very fortunate with these past few storms.  We have not lost power and had minimal damage.  What a way to end the season.  Effective November 1st, we will be open only on the weekends.
